Kevin Missen was brought up in Titahi Bay, Wellington, and now resides with his wife and mother in law in a 110-year-old cottage in Gisborne. His hobbies are writing, cars, trains, photography, and he makes a range of fruit wines in a dedicated, solar powered homebrew shed. They currently have 2 rough coat collie dogs, 2 cats, 3 chickens, that supply plentiful eggs, 3 love birds and 3 goldfish. The children and grandchildren come and go. Kevin is a self employed electrician. His latest book, Musings of Kev the Kiwi, is an entertaining and eclectic collection of opinions and ideas, mixed together with true stories and humour to entertain and invoke thoughtful discussion.

Sorry! I don’t do normal! Someone once said that there are only two ways of learning, either by experience of your own mistakes, or by listening to those that have made the same mistakes before you. That is probably a little simplistic, but there is also a lot of truth in that!

I may be only 59 years old, but, boy, have I made some mistakes in my life! I have learned some very hard lessons! It gets very frustrating when you know something as absolute fact, yet people will say, “Who are you? What do you know? Why should I listen to you?”
